Random Fashion Tip #1

OK so if there are any shoppers out there like me(which I know there are) I'm sure you have all done this at one point. You go to the store, find this amazing outfit, think about it, buy it, and then store it in your closet. Then you say to yourself, "I'll save this outfit for a special occasion." But the special occasion never comes! So here you have this fantastic outfit sitting in your closets for months and sometimes years at a time collecting dust. And each time you go in the closet and look at it, you'll say, "I'll wear it eventually."

We've all done it and it's hard not to. I mean some clothes just look too good to be wearing to the grocery store. However, as I've come to realize sometimes a special occasion never comes. Or perhaps the moment is not good enough to wear it. In that case I just have one thing to say: JUST WEAR IT! After years of doing this I've decided to just take a chance and wear the clothes I buy. Life is too short for my clothes to just be sitting in a closet, especially if I pay good money for it. I know I know, it can be hard at first to put on the sexy red dress in the back of your closet to just go to a movie. But once you put on the outfit you'll feel sexy and empowered.

In the fashion world every day should be a fashion statement, not just certain occasions. If that's the case a person should be looking their personal best(which is different for everyone) every day! I mean yes there are exceptions such as work attire or certain weather attributes. Other than those few exceptions take a chance and wear what you feel like. That special occasion may never come or may not come soon enough. If so, just wear it. Wear that red dress, or those purple shoes, or that white shirt. Wear it all and have fun with it! Even if you're just going to the grocery store. You never know who you might see.  :)

Nice Clothes for the Right Price

It appears today that shopping can be costly. Most people want the design clothes but not for the design price. People have complained that designers do not make clothes for low income families. They say it is unfair how they can’t afford to buy clothes that are so often advertised. I am one of the many people who agree with this, especially now more than ever. I am a young person living in Manhattan and everywhere I look I see designer clothes either in stores, boutiques or just on billboards.  It makes it hard to not want it all! Until I see the prices and then I just shake my head and keep on moving. However, there are ways to get around this and for some people it may just be not buying designer clothes. Even though that is a much cheaper choice, you can still find affordable designer or name brand clothes at a reasonable price.

First let’s look at Outlets

       Outlets are a great place to buy expensive clothing at affordable prices. Even the not so expensive stores have outlets.  My two favorite outlets are Guess and Coach.  Both stores are expensive. So expensive for me that I won’t even walk in the stores sometimes. The outlets though can be looked at like a blessing.  Here they sell designer clothes and items for affordable prices. And when they have sale or clearance items, even better!!! I remember buying a pair of Guess dress pants for around 25-$30. It originally cost about $100. They were so nice and I was so happy to afford them!! Coach is also a great outlet to check out for sales. They still are a bit pricy but not so much where you want to sell your house and car to pay for it. The average price for a coach bag is around $200-to $400. In the outlets you can get one somewhere in the hundreds. It may not be a dramatic drop as some would wish but it’s definitely better than nothing!

Second Option is Ebay:

                Now I have not personally done this but have friends who have bought designer objects online at a reasonable price. I’m not sure how reliable this is but I haven’t heard too many horror stories. Ebay is usually pretty good at what they do. I would definitely do my research on the person who is selling you the product though. If you want to buy a genuine design make sure they aren’t selling you a fake.  Also try bidding as oppose to just buying it now. It may save money in the long run!

Last Option(A lot of people’s favorite) TJ Maxx/ Marshalls

                I’ll admit I’m not a TJ Maxx or Marshall’s kind of girl but my friends and family rave about these two stores. I will say however, these two stores are GREAT at finding designer clothes at low prices. The few times that I’ve been in them I’ve come out with great items. I got a Rocawear Jacket, Baby Phat jeans, a coach purse each all for under $100. This is one of the best options I think if you want to look like you paid a million dollars when secretly you didn’t. The only downside to this store is they only have limited items of any specific clothing you may choose. Not to mention you have to dig through everything which is one of the reason’s I’m not a fan. But if you have the time and you don’t mind looking through tons a rack for that special dress or perfect shoes I completely encourage this choice!!

Overall, creating a fabulous outfit for low prices can be hard and darn right challenging. In the end though, it’s worth it if it brings out your inner beauty and allows you to feel confident.  Besides making money designers wants to know that their products and clothes bring happiness to someone’s life. And now with my handy tips on how to shop cheap for designers, almost anyone can go out and look their best. 

In the World of Fashion Designers

In the fashion world, fashion designers are the ever popular. They help make the fashion world what it is today. They are the creative minds that use expression as their main fuel for their designs.  Fashion designs are not your average clothes but a work of art.  They are to be worn with confidence. Each designer puts something new in each of their designs to make it something special that has never been seen before.They may make everything from purses to jeweler to clothes to shoes. Some people would argue that fashion designers are just fancy overpriced labels.  I however disagree. I believe designers are a way of upgrading your looks, especially when a person has an original.

It’s just incredible to see how each designer takes something used every day and upgrades it into something better!

Chanel is the ultimate of all fashion designers though. Not only has “Coco” Chanel a designer, she was an innovator changing the world of fashion with every step. In my opinion no one can ever top her. She just influenced so much of today's fashion!

Fashion's Reasoning

Fashion is a collage of personal style and trends. It’s a universal connection to everyone it touches.  Whether you’re wearing the latest outfit from off the runway or experimenting with a personal fashion statement, fashion is inescapable.

From a young age I’ve loved fashion. I’ve always experimented with everything. I love to mix colors and textures and patterns. I especially love making up names for my personal style. It’s something that drives me and my passion for it grows stronger everyday.  My favorite thing to do is dress up my friends. Each of my friends have different body types so it’s fun to try different outfits to make it work for their specific body type.

Now even though I can have so many good things to say about the fashion industry and what it does for the world, I can also say that fashion has a bad side to it. As strongly as I feel about the positive things in fashion, I’m just as strong hearted about the negative aspects of fashion. Body image, price jacking, and age are just a few of the negative influences in the fashion world. These influences that are never satisfied. As much good as the fashion world can bring, the bad is always right behind.

The Overall Objectives of Fashion

Fashion is something that everyone has.  Whether it’s in style or not it’s still considered some type of fashion. I am a believer that there is no such thing as bad taste in fashion, just different kinds.  It’s everywhere. In the mall, on tv, in movies, in schools even in the streets. Fashion is something that can’t be escaped. For me it has always been about individual expression. It’s a way to let people know a little bit about your personality. In fashion, you can mix and match things to create a style of your own.

However, the fashion industry is not all glamorous. There’s an ugly side to the fashion.  It can be cut throat and competitive breaking a person’s spirit down. It’s main objective is to sell in image. An image that is used to try and influence the mind’s of people especially women. It doesn’t matter if they can’t sell the clothes. If the fashion industry can sell a specific body type for other’s to admire, that itself is profitable.

In further blogs I want to discuss the in and outs of fashion. The good, the bad and yes the ugly. From trends to personal appearance to even price range on clothes, I want to talk about it all. It’s a topic that everyone lives through but may not understand. That is where I come in. To make sense out of what is known as the fashion world.
